Final Blog

Mainly, my summer plans consist of going back to Kuwait, staying there for a month and then travel to Swiss nefore coming back here again.

I don't have many thing on bucket list, yet. What I'm hoping for is to accomplish them before 01/01/2020. These are the things that I want to do before kicking the bucket:
1)Go skydiving
2)Learn how to speak French fluently
3)Visit the 7 continents.
4)Go bunjee jumping
5)Visit the wreckage of the Titanic by a submarine.
6)Visit Mount Rushmore
7)Get a Masters degree
8)Read all of Agatha Christie’s novels.
9)Learn how to do paper crafts (origami)

That's all I have on my list for now, I hope to add more things untill they reach 100.
I really enjoyed this class and hope everyone has a great summer vacation.

Paraphrase

Having the Alps right by its side is a hard standard to compare with for The Jura Mountains, as by Swiss standards it is barely considered as a mountain. Their revolving timbered marshland that goes on for about 225 miles alon the Swiss-French border northeast from Geneva and are softer than their Alpine in every way.

Although the Jura has a shortness in amazing icy magnificence, it is balanced by a calm brightness that is available to anyone eager to wander between them: Not a hike, yet you can do that in the Jura, also, but a sweat-less walk on a well-marked course. A few years ago, on a warm day, my wife Heidi, and I acquired our young daughter on a seven-mile hike from Avenches to Murten, two villages close to the Jura slopes. The landscape was appropriate for us. The farmers’ route was stroller-friendly, and we roamed beside countless lands of flowering seeds, through muddy forests and besides to an 11th century chapel built from stones the Romans had cut. On the border dividing threes swiss cantons the languages mix like kirsch in a fondue: a rue melts into a strasse that ends at a table with brats and bières.

Spring-Break experience

During Spring break my friends and I booked at Big Bear and went there. Even though it isn't in an another state, they do have a completely different life style. It's more of an outdoor place, people rarely stay indoor over there. When you're there you just feel rejuvenated. As for the weather it is much colder than here. I have also noticed that the native residents over there don't have much interest in the internet or even electronics for that matter. You rarely can get service on your phone, and that was frustrating to me, but it was totally fine with the natives. And when entering a starbucks over there you don't see someone having their laptop or iPad with them, not like here. I'm sure that there are much more differences but those are the ones that stood out from my point of view.

Dream job

Ever since I got into high school my dream job is to become a chemistry professor at Kuwait University. I had a chemistry tutor that teaches at Kuwait University and because of him I want to be what I want to be, he made me love chemistry even though I used to despite it.

My favourite subject became chemistry, so I chose chemical engineering. I want to complete my higher education in my major so I could proceed my dream. Even though it is a very long journey, I am willing to force myself into doing the best I can.

Response #3

One of my favourite quotes,

"A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool" William Shakespeare.

Response #2

Many people from all over the world tend to be judgmental and narrow-minded , I'm not saying that ALL people are the same but, the majority of people are like that. In my opinion, people are all equal, and the best example is the U.S., it is the country that represents the diversity of people. I can't really understand the way those people think. Why think of yourself that you're better than everyone else?

I kind of agree with the quote. To travel a lot is an advantage, you will learn about many new cultures, make new friends and pick up some new words from another language. It will also broaden one's mind, people may think in new ways and see life from a new perspective.

Response #1

My name is Rawan, I have been studying in the ALP for 3 weeks. Before coming to the US, I studied at Cambridge English School in Kuwait. I have 3 brothers and I'm the eldest. My family and I travel every summer to a different country like, Switzerland, France, Italy, UK, and the U.S and many others. I have visited the US 9 times before this time, we own a house at Orlando, Florida. I have visited New york, Chicago, Washington DC, Miami and many more.

I decided to come study in the US because I believe that the education in the US is way better than the education back home. I major in Chemical Engineering. My dad is a Manufacture Engineer and my mum is a Mechanical Engineer. I have 3 dogs back home, a German Shepherd, a Bulldog and a Golden retriever. My hobby is reading novels and my favourite book of all is "The twilight saga". And that's about it.
